CNC Machinist/Programmer


 

Job description:

Due to retirement next year we are starting the search for a versatile and forward-thinking CNC machinist/programmer to work with our team. 

We manufacture many components for motorsport, aerospace, medical and industrial customers as well as parts for our own range of automotive accessories.

We have both vertical CNC mills and lathes. Our typical work is small batch or prototype, so no boring runs of much repetitive work. Very varied. 

Key skills:

Conversant with FANUC and HAAS.

Able to use CAM (fusion 350).

Experience with SolidWorks.

Able to design and make fixtures.

Good attitude towards passing knowledge to apprentices.

Excellent attention to detail.

Quality-driven attitude.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 

8:00 - 17:00

On-site parking

Co-op and chip shop over the road ;)

Salary up to £35k for the right candidate.

Apprentice CNC Machinist/Engineer

Job description:

 

Iconic Engineering Solutions Ltd is a local and dynamic subcontract precisions engineering business who manufactures parts for local and national customers. These range from parts of high performance race cars, factory machinery, marine industry, and medical. We also have a motorcycle accessory business where we design and manufacture many products.


Due to the continual growth of Iconic Engineering we are currently seeking a Trainee Apprentice CNC Engineers. This is an apprenticeship scheme which will result in an accredited qualification. The role is offered with day release to college and pay.

Job Purpose & Progression

Working for a busy subcontract engineering company, you will be supporting and developing the growing section of our manufacturing services.

We are looking for a driven candidate to be trained as an Engineer with the opportunity to become a future CNC Programmer/setter mastering all areas of Programming, setting and operating of CNC milling machines and robots.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have an interest in Engineering
  • Excellent time keeping skills
  • Be Motivated and posses a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Live within a commutable distance

Key Activities to be developed

  • Programme/Set and Operate 3, 4 and 5 axis milling machines, and potentially lathes.
  • Responsible for keeping machines clean and in perfect condition
  • To be able to use manual machinery such as lathe and milling machines
  • To be able to work as part of a small team inspecting own work and that of others within the section.
  • Have an excellent eye for detail with good use of hand tools to deburr own work.
  • To maintain Engineering tolerances and be able to adjust the machine accordingly.

  • Health, Safety & Environmental procedures
  • House keeping
